Color and Shades Difference in Various Types of Persian Cats

Colors and Shades of Persian Cats

Classification can be done on the basis of colors and shades of Persian cats. Persian cats come in wide variety of colors. The types of Persian cats are often categorized either by their colors (black, white, chinchilla, calico, Himalayan) or their face shape (Peke/flat/doll face). These cats are extremely blessed that they look amazing in almost all colors or shades. The most common color in Persian cats is white, fawn, blue and black. But these colors are not always spread in one single shade all over the bodies of Persians. The thick and long coats of this breed allow the colors to be of different shades. Therefore, the shaded variety comes into being. Apart from white, blue and black colors, the Persians are mostly having lighter and darker versions of their respective colors shades all over their bodies. These shades also give rise to some unique patterns (tabby or tortoiseshell).
