Cocker Spaniel Dog Breed
Cocker Spaniel are amazing dogs with so many interesting physcial and behavioral features. These spaniels are called Cocker because of their usage in hunting the Woodcock. These dogs were originally bred in England but later they were modified in their American form. The Americans are smaller in size and more appropriate for hunting purpose. Americans have much smaller hind legs as compared to English dogs of this breed.
The side of this spaniel is small. The average height of male dog is 14-16 inches. The female spaniel is 13 to 14.5 inches in height.
Weight of an average spaniel is 11-15 KGs.
Features of Cocker Spaniel Dog Breed
There are two types of this dog breed. One is called American. American Spaniels are short, they have a domed head and their muzzle is also not long. English Spaniels are bit taller and they have a long yet narrow head and muzzle.
The Spaniels usually have long hanging ears. The ears are usually covered with fur.

These Spaniels have usually different length of hair over different parts of body. The coat is thick and coarse and is styled in different ways.
These Spaniels could be in solid colors, bi-color or tri-color. They have variety of color range from black and red to different shades of golden.
Temperament of Cocker Spaniel Dog Breed
Cocker Spaniel are lovely dogs. They are highly family oriented and they require so much love and attention in return.
They are active and needs activities like playing with ball, running, Frisbee etc.
They are very agile and extrovert.
They love food and most of the time they are found in kitchen licking the leftover in dishes.
They are good guard dogs and very alert yet they are easy to become friends with strangers.
They are full of entertainment and energy and most likely they will never let you get bored.
